An On-going Project...

This is an ongoing project creating a listing of MAINE wild flowers found in fields, woodlands, roadsides and aquatic habitats in the Town of Lakeville, Maine and surrounding areas during July and August.  This list is being updated as new pictures are received.  The flowers are organized by color and the page numbers given after each flower refer to the following books Flower classification priority is given to local authority Dwelley, then Peterson, then Audubon.

 (P) = Peterson and McKenney's

          "Field Guide to Wildflowers"1968,

          Houghton Mifflin Co., Boston, MA.

(D) =  Marilyn Dwelley's

"Summer and Fall Wildflowers of New England," 2004.

Down East Books, Camden, Maine

 (A) =  Audubon's

"Field Guide to North American Wildflowers,"  1979.  Alfred Knopf, Inc., NY.
